DESIGN - Where Technology and Production Meet |
Interface of CAD and EDM |
| Computer Aided Design and Computer
Aided Machining (CAD/CAM) systems allow Evans
to eliminate errors and work quickly with greater
precision on all design projects. Intricate
production drawings can be rapidly generated
from component sketches, and design verification
can be achieved through computer-matched dimensions
of components. The scan of the CAD/CAM design
interfaces with the wire EDM to greatly increase
production time. |

Wire EDM
|
| A major component to the
Evans facility is the Electric Discharge
Cutting Machine (EDM).
The EDM is an effective machining process,
which utilizes a continually moving wire electrode
to navigate tooling specifications. The Electro-thermal
nature of the erosion process exemplifies enhanced
versatility to our tool & die operations. |
